World's First FDA Class II 510(k) Directly 3D Printed Clear Aligner
April, 2022 LuxCreo, a 3D printing company based in Silicon Valley, California, was the first to receive FDA Class II 510(k) clearance for their direct 3D printed dental aligners. Their 4D Aligner™ System is an end-to-end solution that allows dentists and orthodontists to produce clear aligners on the same day, bypassing the traditional thermoforming and model stages.
LuxCreo Invents Digital Polishing™
Delivers the Impossible - Digitally Polished Clear Appliances
February, 2020 LuxCreo introduces Digital Polishing™, a 3D-printing platform that automates the polishing of clear dental appliances, such as splints, nightguards, retainers, and aligners, to simplify digital dentistry, reduce post-processing time, and increase production speed. It uses LuxCreo's patented LEAP™ platform and clear appliance resins, DCA and DNG, to achieve 80% higher clarity and reduce post-processing time by over 75%.
Future Proof Industrial Dental 3D Printing Platform
May 2019 LuxCreo set out to apply its unique full-stack industrial 3D printing platform to help accelerate the world's dental laboratories and clinics transition to digital dentistry. LuxCreo chose to solve three impossible problems for laboratories and clinics:
1. Expand clear aligner applications with advanced materials, direct 3D printing and multi-thickness design with simplified, scalable workflow.
2. Eliminate the dirty little secrete of 3D printing - time consuming and messy grinding and polishing of clear dental appliances.
3. Ensure both laboratories and clinics can take their digital collaboration to the next level with unmatched simplicity, scalability, and repeatability.

Read Mike's BioMike Yang, PhD, is the CEO and Co-founder of LuxCreo. Mike is a serial entrepreneur with a career spanning across corporate strategy, global operations, and hardtech commercialization.
Before LuxCreo, he was the Managing Director and Board Member at Bloom Energy, the CFO of Danoo, and a consultant at McKinsey & Co. in the high-tech and innovation practices.
Mike is a technologist at heart. He received his PhD and MS from Harvard in Engineering Sciences and Computational Physics, with a summa cum laude BA in Applied Math and Medical Sciences. He also holds a MBA from Wharton in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Mike has an innate understanding and hands-on experiences with the interdisciplinary sciences and engineering fundamental to the imminent innovations in digital dentistry. Under his direction, LuxCreo has grown from a proof-of-concept business plan to a global leader in digital dentistry and a trusted partner to the dental professional community.
In his spare time, Mike follows the latest developments in AI/ML, and plays video games to kick AI’s ass.
Michael Strohecker

Read Michael's BioMichael Strohecker is the Chief Revenue Officer and Co-founder of LuxCreo. With over 25 years of experience in 3D printing and hardware technology, Michael Strohecker is a passionate problem solver who enjoys growing companies by blending both technical and business value for maximum customer, partner, and stakeholder benefit.
Michael started his career in aerospace at Boeing (McDonnell Douglas) as a Research & Development Engineer, where he developed damage tolerant 3D reinforced carbon fiber composites for NASA Blended Wing Program. Transitioning from airplanes to satellites at Space Systems Loral, Michael designed and analyzed space structures for commercial and government spacecraft including Sirius Radio, IntelSat, and International Space Station. This is where Michael had his first experience with early SLA and other 3D printing technologies.
Michael held business development and sales roles as VP of Business Development South East and South West England Development Agencies helping Silicon Valley startups expand operations to Europe. In addition, he co-founded EfficientNow helping improve energy efficiency of commercial and medical built environment.
Michael Strohecker earned their BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, followed by a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. He has an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School.
Michael was a NCAA Division 1 water polo player, and enjoys sharing his passion for sports and health with his family.

Tao Feng

Read Tao's BioTao Feng, PhD, JD, is the Chief IP officer of LuxCreo. With a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a B.E. from Tsinghua University, Tao's academic journey has been diverse and enriching.
Before joining LuxCreo, Tao served as Director at Intellectual Ventures, later a spin-off entity, Xinova. Tao's expertise lies in patent procurement, patent portfolio strategy, and IP commercialization. Tao also has worked in private practice as an attorney at Morrison & Foerster's Palo Alto office, focusing on U.S. and international patent prosecution, IP due diligence, and more.
Beyond Tao’s professional pursuits, Tao is an enthusiastic traveler and dedicated CrossFiter, always seeking new adventures and challenges both in and out of the office.
